Plot distance

Hello, I hope this message finds you well. I am using MS-Noise for research on Colombia, and I keep having trouble getting the plot distance right. I was wondering on what would be my problem, I truly appreciate any help. MWCS job list

Dear MSnoise users, I have run MSNoise completely many times, and I've plotted the dv/v successfully. I've just understood that MWCS job type for REF remains "Todo" in the job list table, while the computation for other days is "Done"; so is it correct that MWCS for REF day always is Todo? New with msnoise

Hello, I am a PhD in environmental seismology and I would like to use the msnoise package on seismic data. I have installed the package and created an empty database in mySQL as explained in http://msnoise.org/doc/installation.html. I am fine using python (not an expert but I succeed in doing what I want), but I have never worked with mySQL before. Then I tried to initialize the project and this is where my problems have begun. I have multiple errors links to the arguments I put. So what I did is: Open the terminal in an empty folder where I want to do all the work related to the interferometry. Enter 2 (mysql). Then enter 127.0.0.1, it seems to work. Then for the database I enter the name I give when I created the empty database. For the username and password I give the informations I put when I did the "Add Account" during the installation. For the prefix I have no idea what I am suppose to enter. Please find attached the screenshots. I think it may be not working because at some point I am supposed to enter my seismic data or the folders with my seismic data. When and where should I do that ? How the data must be presented ? For now my arborescence is year/julian_day/station/ hourly sac file for BHE, BHZ and BHN. Also I will be doing the tests in local first (data stored on my computer) but I plan letter to work with data stored on a server. Do you know how I can acces the data remotely with mySQL ? Also is the package fine for python 3.7 ? Regards, Sophie Lagarde.

msnoise db init command

Dear MSNoise users, when i write "msnoise db init" command constantly gives this error CRITICAL:root:Unable to read project configuration: error connecting to the database: (pymysql.err.OperationalError) (1045, "Access denied for user 'msnoise'@'localhost' (using password: YES)") (Background on this error at: http://sqlalche.me/e/e3q8). when i write "msnoise bugreport -s -m" and "msnoise info" commands give the same error message. EGU Solid Earth Special Issue: Social seismology – the effect of COVID-19 lockdown measures on seismology

*Dear colleagues,* * In the last months, there has been a storm both in traditional and social media about the observation that the Covid-19 lockdown measures cause an unprecedented seismic urban “silence”, which is observed globally on many urban seismic stations. It is the first time that such a protracted noise reduction has been observed on a global scale at the same time. customizing plot problem

Dear MSNoise users, I want to use the customizing plot. So, I copied the dvv.py script to my project directory, then I edited the "from ..api import * to from msnoise.api import *". When I run the dvv code I faced the following error. I will be grateful for any help you can provide. msnoise overlap parameter

Hi all, I am new to msnoise and would appreciate a small enlightment: According to the documentation, the "overlap" parameter in the config menu seems to refer to overlapping between the raw seismic signal data windows (duration 30 min by default). However, later in the processing (cf paper), during the CCF comparison with reference, it is said that the ref and current CCFs are sliced in several overlapping windows. My question is, what is the parameter controling this last overlap ? Can it be changed ? (I did not manage to identify it in the doc) Thanks a lot, Best, Thomas

cross-correlation and dtt warnins

Dear MSNoise users, When I run "_msnoise compute_cc_", I faced the following warnings. _/home/user/anaconda3/lib/python3.7/site-packages/obspy/io/mseed/core.py:790: UserWarning: The encoding specified in trace.stats.mseed.encoding does not match the dtype of the data._ _A suitable encoding will be chosen._ _ warnings.warn(msg, UserWarning)_ _/home/user/anaconda3/lib/python3.7/site-packages/obspy/io/mseed/core.py:840: UserWarning: File will be written with more than one different record lengths._ _This might have a negative influence on the compatibility with other programs._ _ warnings.warn(msg % 'record lengths')_ Also, when I run "_msnoise compute_dtt_" _home/user/anaconda3/lib/python3.7/site-packages/scipy/optimize/minpack.py:808: OptimizeWarning: Covariance of the parameters could not be estimated_ _ category=OptimizeWarning)_ however, all computations were completed, I want to know that do these warnings have a negative impact on my final results? cross-component and auto-correlation problem

Dear MSNoise users, I want to calculate the cross-component of ZE, ZN, NE as well as auto-correlation. I set the related configuration parameters as below; autocorr Y cc_type CC cc_type_single_station_AC AC cc_type_single_station_SC SC components_to_compute EE,NN,ZZ components_to_compute_single_station ZN,NE,ZE when I run the command "_msnoise compute_cc_", I face the below error: /home/user/anaconda3/lib/python3.7/site-packages/obspy/io/mseed/core.py:790: UserWarning: The encoding specified in trace.stats.mseed.encoding does not match the dtype of the data.
