Hi all, I've identified a small bug in the new_jobs command. It's now corrected and the 1.3.1 version is updated at pypi, so simply "pip uninstall msnoise" and "pip install msnoise" to get the latest version. See the release notes below, Cheers, Thomas ---- This is a bugfix release. When running the new_jobs procedure, the jobs are "inserted" in the database, even if they already existed (they should be "updated"). This is because of the complete rewrite of the code to optimize the operation. As this optimization is mostly useful upon first run, I've added a parameter |--init| to the command. If provided, the "massive insert" procedure is used, if not, then the classic "insert or update if existing" is used. So, upon first run : |msnoise new_jobs --init| And afterwards (in cron, e.g.): `|msnoise new_jobs| Users who have already run MSNoise 1.3 on their archive need to clean the jobs table in the database. The buggy jobs are those "CC" jobs which are still marked "I"n progress after the compute_cc procedure, and with a "lastmod" = "NULL". MSNoise 1.3 Released !!

Hi all, 8 months after the last bugfix release (/MSNoise 1.2.5/ <http://www.msnoise.org/doc/releasenotes/msnoise-1.2.5.html>), and 17 months after the last major release (/MSNoise 1.2/ <http://www.msnoise.org/doc/releasenotes/msnoise-1.2.html>) we are proud to announce the new /MSNoise 1.3/ <http://www.msnoise.org/doc/releasenotes/msnoise-1.3.html>. It is a *major* release, with a massive amount of work since the last release: in GitHub numbers <https://github.com/ROBelgium/MSNoise/graphs/contributors?from=2014-06-28&to…> , it’s over 100 commits and about 3500 new lines of code and documentation added ! MSNoise 1.3 introduces a *brand new* way of executing the workflow. The workflow in itself doesn’t change, so experienced users as well as new users reading the SRL publication will find their way easily! *MSNoise is now a Python Package*, allowing a single (and easy) install for all your projects and/or all users using |pip install msnoise|. The new top-level |msnoise| command contains all the steps of the workflow, plus new additions, as the very useful |reset| command to easily mark all jobs “T”odo. The |msnoise plot| command group which includes seven plots, all directly callable from the command line, without needing to hack/edit the source codes. About hacking: MSNoise has now a proper documented API which allows pythonistas to write their own plots, computation steps, ..., while interacting with the database and the data archive! The “dynamic time lag” allows to use parts of the coda that is dependent from the interstation distance (provided station coordinates are defined). Finally, MSNoise is now /tested/ and automatically checked by Travis-CI! Hi Glenn, Did you try downloading the sources, edit/create a site.cfg file and run the python setup.py install ? It might work as-is ? Cannot proceed to stacking as "Found 000 updated days"

Dear all, I have computed the daily cross-correlations between two stations but I cannot proceed to the stacking as "Found 000 updated days". I tried to continue with the stacking process immediately after the CC computations, so there was no need, for example, to give an interval to search for modified CC. Do I miss any detail about this issue? It is something that I did not face it before. Thank you very much in advance. Here are the last lines of the terminal: . . . It was my fault. I was able to install libsamplerate (not libsamplerate0): yum install libsamplerate But not libsamplerate-dev (or libsamplerate0-dev) And then the command: easy_install scikits.samplerate still failed with the same error as it did for Adebayo. error: SRC (http://www.mega-nerd.com/SRC/) library not found. Directories to search for the libraries can be specified in the site.cfg file, in section [samplerate]. I have not been able to find out where on my system libsamplerate has installed, so nothing to put in site.cfg. QUESTIONS ABOUT ALL PROCESS WITH MSNOISE

Hello Thomas, I'm trying again run msnoise in my computer, however I want to do some questions about the processing. I have all records in SAC format, and I have processed these with the next specifications: The sampling rate for the correlations is 1 sps startdate : 2009-01-01 enddate : 2013-01-01 analysis duration : 86400 cc_sampling_rate : 20 resampling_method : Decimate decimation_factor : 125 preprocess_lowpass : 1 preprocess_highpass : 0.0125 maxlag : 120 corr_duration : 1800 windsorizing : 3 crondays : -1 autocorr : N keep_all : Y keep_days : Y ref_begin :2009-01-01 ref_end : 2013-01-01 export_format : MSEED sac_format : doublets I don't know why, but the mwcs.py don't stimate and s06compute_dtt.py the compiler don't function. One of the filter for the correlations is: correlations is low=0.1, low_mwcs=0.1, high_mwcs=0.2, high=0.2 Someone could tell me if some parameter is wrong? Autocorrelations in MSNoise

Hi Thomas, What is the pre-processing of the noise when computing autocorrelations? Is it the same as for the cross-correlations? If yes, would it be better to not fully whiten the data before autocorrelation as the only information comes from the amplitude spectrum (and not the phase)? I suggest to modify a bit the whiten.py function to keep the structure of the whole code similar. Following Gorbatov et al. (2013), instead of putting the amplitude spectrum =1 (with tapper) I would use a normalisation with a water-level in the form A(freq) = A(freq)/max(A(freq),c*max(A(freq))) With A the amplitude spectrum and c the water-level factor (which is typically on the order of 1%). It should not change the results for the cross-correlations and improve the autocorrelations. Does it make sense or did I missed something?
